General Dentistry
Initial Oral Examination
When you visit our office for your initial exam, you’ll go through a series of diagnostic tests meant to gauge your current oral health. This includes:
- A visual examination
- Charting of the teeth
- Periodontal probing
- A health diagnosis
To ensure we have the complete picture, we’ll also take a series of X-rays to properly diagnose the state of your teeth and mouth.
Installing Implants
Implants are artificial structures placed where the root of a tooth would normally reside. They are anchored to the jawbone or a metal framework on the bone and act as a foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge. Implants, on occasion, can also be used to attach dentures.
Treating Toothaches
Some toothaches can be relieved with a simple rinse to clear the mouth of debris. Other times, however, it signals a developing cavity that needs prompt attention.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Crowns and Bridges
Crowns are synthetic caps placed on top of a tooth to improve its function and appearance. These are typically done after a restorative procedure like root canal therapy.
Teeth Whitening
Over time, sugar, caffeine, tobacco, and even aging can affect the color of your teeth. Teeth whitening allows you to safely restore the color and get your smile back.
Veneers
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic cemented over the front of your teeth to change their color or shape. Typically, these are used to mask teeth with uneven surfaces, chips, or discoloration.
Invisalign®
Invisalign® uses a custom-made series of translucent, removable aligners that work as an alternative to traditional braces. This is a great choice for teenagers and adults, and they are essentially invisible when you wear them.
Emergency Dentistry
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy treats infections in the passageways inside your teeth. Left untreated, these infections could lead to a number of other health issues or even be deadly.
Broken and Chipped Teeth
As long as you take quick action, a broken or fractured tooth can often be saved. Rinse with warm water and apply a cold pack. Then, schedule your same-day emergency appointment. If the fracture is minor, we may be able to sand it to a normal shape or restore it entirely.
Knocked-Out Teeth
If you’re suffering from a broken tooth or a knocked-out tooth, also known as an avulsed tooth, call us immediately to make an emergency, same-day appointment. If your tooth has been knocked out, attempt to place it back into its socket until you can get to our office. If you can’t, grab it by the crown and place it in milk, saline, or your own saliva to keep it safe until you reach us. A quick response can mean the difference between getting your tooth back and needing an implant.
